Soft
Suitable for all types of motorcycles. They fit all motorcycles. Touring, naked, on off, cruiser and even scooter. Now most companies also have metal bases on many models of suitcases, so that they do not hang from the passenger's saddle like before. They are very light and light weight is the "key" especially in off-road riding.
Waterproof
There are plastic ones that have aluminum side panels. Heavier than soft ones. They are not as durable as aluminum ones.
If you are planning a trip on off-road routes then prefer soft or aluminum ones.
Plastic can break in the event of a fall.
